01 — Who We Are

A humanitarian mission, powered by technology

SGRK (Speciālā Glābšanas Reakcijas Komanda) is a Latvian non-profit association. We strengthen search & rescue across the Baltics by building our own rescue UAVs and deploying them to find people faster — as a humanitarian service, never for profit.

We build

UAV Manufacturing

We design and assemble SARNAV rescue drones in Latvia — purpose-built for cold-climate, beyond-visual-line-of-sight search. Aircraft equip our own crews and partner rescue services across the region.

We serve

Search & Rescue Services

We deploy crews and aircraft on humanitarian SAR missions, supporting state services, municipalities and volunteers — faster searches, safer responders, and lives found in the critical first hours.

02 — Our Aircraft

SARNAV-1 — a fixed-wing VTOL rescue drone

Built from proven, open technology and integrated by our own engineers, SARNAV-1 takes off vertically like a helicopter and cruises far like a plane — designed for one goal: finding people faster.

Vertical take-off, long range

Tilting-rotor VTOL launches anywhere, then cruises far — no runway needed.

AI victim detection

A Jetson Nano runs a YOLOv8 model on thermal imagery to flag people in real time.

Cold-weather endurance

A battery heating system keeps performance stable through Baltic winters.

Stay or roam

Flies free for wide-area search, or runs on a power tether for hours of overwatch.

03 — What We Do

Four activities, one humanitarian mission

Building aircraft lets us serve more people; serving more people — through fees that simply cover cost — lets the association sustain itself and keep building.

SAR Operations

Crews and aircraft deployed on humanitarian search & rescue, supporting state and volunteer responders.

UAV Manufacturing

Designing and assembling SARNAV rescue drones in Latvia for our own teams and partner services.

Training Academy

Teaching pilots, operators and rescuers to fly and use UAVs safely and effectively in the field.

Sustained Support

Maintenance, repair and upgrades that keep every aircraft mission-ready and the mission self-sustaining.

04 — Our Impact

Why this matters

Every part of SGRK points at one outcome: more people found alive, and stronger rescue capability kept inside Latvia.

Lives saved

Cutting response time directly improves survival in wilderness and water emergencies — the heart of everything we do.

Sovereign capability

Latvia gains its own rescue-UAV design, build and repair capability — and high-skill technical roles to match.

A stronger community

Training, shared designs and reliable support make every partnered rescue team more capable, season after season.

05 — Funding Plan

From €150,000 to a self-sustaining mission

Growth is paced to capability and funded phase by phase — each step proven before the next begins.

€150,000
Phase 1 — Foundation

Our first goal is €150,000 in seed funding to register the association, build and fly SARNAV-1 prototype #1, certify the core crew and aircraft, equip a deployable ground station, and stand up our first humanitarian SAR partnership — with one year of safe operating runway.
